Created in honor and memory of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The piece reflects the deconstructed flag - 13 stars, representing the original founding colonies, form her crown with an additional 37 stars blooming across her chest; seven red and six white strands of thread free-flow from her hands. The Prussian blue in the piece is created naturally from the cyanotype printing process.
Embroidery is created by hand, directly onto the cyanotype (made on watercolor paper), using French cotton embroidery thread. Thread is free-flowing and can be rearranged as desired upon framing.
The piece measures about 11.5"x8.75" and is unframed. The piece will be signed and dated on the back.
